DENSITY

“Density” is a scenographic project in the public space, designed for the International Festival of the Street Theatre. The main task was to give performers a flexible space, that would be easy to adapt to any size and needs, depending on the event. At the same time, to create a playful area, an urban playground without a strictly defined function, that could be attractive to passers-by. The installation doesn’t have a specified entrance. It invites people to explore it in their way. The clear shape of the performance area is traced by posts densifying towards it. Depending on the needs of particular events, the geometry of the whole setting will be different. Each time though it takes an oval or organic form. Those shapes are the most democratic and perfectly contain the event such as street theatre, which doesn’t need a strict division of the audience and stage area. The installation can be rearranged every day, providing the spectators with a dynamic and intriguing public space.
